Senior Azure DevOps Engineer / Bern, Switzerland Location: Bern, Switzerland / hybrid Employment Type: Permanent Start Date: ASAP (up to 3 months notice considered) Native or fluent German (Swiss German preferred) is mandatory We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join a leading technology and cloud services organisation based in Bern, Switzerland . The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, automated cloud infrastructure environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer who is passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps best practices. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, testing, and deployment processes Ensure high availability, security, performance, and scalability of cloud environments Support both cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows environments Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions Apply DevOps best practices related to automation, version control, and continuous improvement Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making Support incident management, root-cause analysis, and service optimisation Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical standards and documentation Required Experience Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or similar technologies Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins Solid Linux and/or Windows Server administration skills Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar) Experience with Git and version control best practices Good understanding of cloud security, networking, and governance Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field Desirable Skills Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, AZ-900, DevOps Engineer Expert) Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKS) Knowledge of secret management and configuration management practices Experience working within enterprise-scale or regulated environments Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices Personal Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proactive and self-motivated approach Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Collaborative mindset and experience working within agile environments Please note: Applicants must be eligible to work in Switzerland and possess fluent/native-level German language skills to be considered for this position.
